Ky-Mani Marley has been an established Reggae Singer for many years. Born in Falmouth Jamaica, he was one of the wealthiest and most popular. He was in Shottas with another singer Wyclef. Ky-Mani released his debut album, Like Father Like Son in 1996. It was then it was followed by Dear Dad", which was a top-ranked album on charts in the British Reggae chart. Ky-Mani teamed up with Praswell of Fugees for Avenue in 1997, which was an incredibly successful cover of Eddy Grant's Electric Avenue. Marley was the first artist to perform at Midem a world-class festival of music which was held in Miami. Marley did a performance in the Cameo Theatre that was broadcasted live throughout 36 nations. Marley was a target in auction warfare. In 1997, the singer signed a contract with Gee Street/V2 Records and completed the project in conjunction in collaboration with P.M.
